The Benefits of Oil Filtration

The Benefits of Oil Filtration

Everyone likes fried foods because the perfectly crispy textures are always irresistible! In order for your fried foods to have a distinct crispness, you need to ensure that the oil in your deep fryer is in good quality. Simply put, oil filtration process is necessary for removing food residues as well as other contaminants. The sad truth is that manually filtering oil is very tiring. However, if replace the oil and skip the tiring filtration process will be extremely expensive in the long run. Thanks to the oil filtration system, the life of cooking oil can be extended and thereby improving food quality.

Here are the benefits of oil fliltration in the kitchen.

Avoid Flavour Degradation

Impurities such as large chunks of ingredients or small pieces of foods can be easily spotted if the oil has been used several times, without filtering. The leftover particles will leave a lingering unpleasant flavour in the food you cook because food tend to absorb the flavour of the residues ttrapped inside the oil. Eventually, the fried foods will turn overly greasy and soggy. Therefore, filtering these impurities with oil filtration system not only helps to extend the life of the oil, but also enhance the taste, flavour and aroma of the food.

Make Cleaning Easier

Reused oil with food residues will create a thick layer of burnt-on stains on the surface of the deep fryer. As time passes, the food particles and contaminants will solidify, making future cleaning difficult and strenuous. All in all, oil filtration system is definitely a good option to avoid accumulation of grease and food particles in the deep fryer, this in turn reduces repair and maintenance fees.

Prevent Oil Spoilage

Oil is stable at high temperature but the smoke point will drop if keep reusing it without filtering. Plus, the accumulation of food debris will accelerate the deterioration process of the oil.  In other words, overused oil with unstable smoke point tends to ignite and burn easily when a heat source like spark or lit cigarette is present. However, most of the oils can be reused as long as the small pieces of leftover or charred food are properly filtered.

Among the many kinds of oil filtering solutions available, portable oil filtration system is the best. Manually filtering fryer oil with wire mesh or paper filters can be very time consuming and dangerous, especially in a commercial kitchen that has a lot of activity going on. Therefore, most restaurants will go for a portable oil filtration system where dirty oil with suspended particles can be eliminated effectively by the filter. In short, having an  oil filtration system is important for any kitchen as it prolongs the life of the oil, helps to make the food taste better and much healthier to eat.
