Convection Oven Buying Guide

Convection Oven Buying Guide

Before investing in a convection oven, there are many options and features to choose from. They come in an array of styles, sizes and features with their own advantages and limitations.

So, what are you supposed to look for when buying a convection oven?

Countertop versus Floor model

These are the most popular option you will come across. Countertop convection ovens are ideal for small cafés that only bake small batches of cakes, puffs, cookies and the like. As for full-fledged bakeries or high-volume restaurants, the floor model would be a better option. Floor model convection ovens tend to have bigger space to accommodate large amounts of foods at one time. Furthermore, floor model convection ovens are available as single or double decked. Double deck convection ovens are often preferred in large-scale bakeries and restaurant as they are able to prepare multiple dishes simultaneously.

Size matters

Countertop convection oven, as the name implies, it is small enough to be placed on the kitchen countertop without taking up floor space. So, it is ideal for small kitchen with limited space. Plus, it is highly portable.  However, the downside is that it only can accommodate a small amount of food as well as smaller baking trays. Of course, floor models require more floor space but they have a large capacity and able to hold virtually any tray size. If you prefer the floor model, you need to consider the layout of your kitchen as well as your available space.

Easy-to-use control panel

Simple control panel design is important to ensure smooth baking process. Some models feature with temperature controls and time setting which allow users to set the desired temperature and time for perfect baking results. Different models offer different temperature ranges, but with user-friendly features, most people are able to operate, even unskilled food service workers.
